Abstract
On tente d’y répondre
ABSTRACT
Since its beginnings in Europe, more than twenty years ago, Health
Psychology has not integrated, in a systemic way, the cultural dimension
in its models, as did the pioneer contributions of Social Sciences.
This article investigates the reasons why such an integration is
necessary and would help scientific decompartmentalization. These
reasons are linked to : the history of the health studies field,
the development of cultural perspectives in psychology and the need
to promote a multidimensional approach of the phenomenons which are
specific to health 238 Nouvelle Revue de psychosociologie - 1 studies
field. In order to go further in the analysis of culture intervention
within health practices, three questions are stated : where, in which
space to locate culture ? how to conceive its forms of intervention
? what conceptions of culture can be applied in Health Psychology.
We’ll try to answer these questions on the basis of theoretical and
empirical contributions, and introducing a new place of observation
: the experience lived by the actors of the health system.
