Mastersthesis,

Mean Value Engine Modeling with Modelica

.
Linköpings Universitet, (Dec 6, 2001)

Abstract

This thesis is a study of engine modeling in Modelica. It covers therange of models known as mean value engine models that often are usedin development of control algorithms and evaluation of new hardwareon the systems-level. The purpose is to create a package, a Modelicalibrary, of basic components suitable for such models. The packageis designed for a high flexibility with few rigid rules on their use andshould be reusable for a range of applications. The components are connected to a functioning engine, a four cylin-der turbo diesel, which is verified against an already existing model ofthe same engine implemented in Simulink. The work has been performed at DaimlerChrysler Research andTechnology with assistance from MathCore.
