Abstract

In this paper, a comparative analysis of selected cases of normative agent architectures is undertaken. A classification scheme is introduced that represents crucial decisions of which designers of normative agents have to be aware. Preconditions are the theoretical background on which the author relies and whether single or social embedded agents are considered. Designers then have to specify the conceptual realization of norms, to decide whether norm dynamics are to be considered and how to deal with possible conflicts.
