Abstract
The author discusses the decision of the Online Computer Library Center (OCLC) to stop producing library catalog cards by October 2015. Topics covered include the number of catalog cards the OCLC has produced since 1971, when its shared cataloging system first went online, the steady decrease in OCLC card production as U.S. libraries began replacing their printed card catalogs with electronic catalogs, and the changes in libraries which the author witnessed during her career as a cataloger.
