Abstract
The paper examined the relationship between 360 degree appraisal and employee commitment. Employee commitment is simply a relationship between employees and organization. The 360 degree performance appraisal as evident from existing literature is one of the appraisal system that has in the recent years gained significant popularity. The paper concludes that paper concludes that employees become committed to an organisation when leaders tend to exhibit behaviours that are geared towards developing them other than largely focusing on pay and promotion. Findings studies suggests that this traditional appraisal system tends to overlook a number of employee traits due to its standardised nature. The paper recommends that performance appraisal systems should be designed in such a way that they create perceptions of fair treatment relative to other employees as well as the employee”˜s own expectations.
