Abstract

A new synthetic route was used to obtain bismuth rare earth tungstates: BiREWO6, where RE = Y, Gd and Nd. These materials were obtained by microwave radiation in air at 900-1100 degrees C for 10 min, depend on the rare earth composition in the ceramic. Structural characterization was performed by X-ray powder diffraction, Infrared and Raman spectroscopy. It was observed that all samples are isostructural materials with monoclinic phase with space group A12/m1 and member of the Aurivillius family, as Bi2WO6 ferroelectric phase. It was observed moderated values for dielectric measurements (14 < epsilon(r)' > 19 and 0.018 < tg delta > 0.079) at microwaves frequencies, which can be used as Dielectric Resonator Antenna or for size reduction of the electric device.
