Abstract
The development of softwares by teams geographically apart brings
the challenge of how to manage people and resources in distinct space
and time. Tools as corporate intranets have been used in this way.
This article, through a bibliographic review, describes the environment
of software development by such teams, as well as the importance
of the software configuration management and presents the portals
solutions as an alternative. It analyzes the case of the departmental
portal for management of the software development processes in a
division of Unisys Brazil, the Unisys Global Outsourcing. Besides,
this article presents directions for future works
