Abstract

Focuses on computerized hospital information systems and assesses the system implemented in Limpopo Province in South Africa. Problems arising because of inadequate infrastucture and the functioning of the system; Results suggesting system failure was consistent with computer projects in other countries; Reasons for failure including not ensuring users understood the complexity of the system; Findings that suggest money was wasted in the implementation of the hospital information system.
