Abstract

The article reports on the ten new collaboration technologies offered by International Business Machines Corp. (IBM) in the computer software industry in the U.S. These include Bluegrass, a virtual reality application that allows users to create virtual conference rooms, Beehive, which allows users to display pictures and video, and Virtual Team-Building Game which was intended to improve trust and cooperation among fellows unused to the idea of virtual meeting. Moreover, Social Discovery returns documents and adds people's names concerning a topic from IBM's internal Blog Central application. Other applications include Cattail Personal File Sharing, Chat Search and Real-Time Translation Service.
