Numerical calculation of internal electric fields or current densities caused by ELF magnetic fields
is one of the major issues in addressing the biological effects. In Japan, scientific committees have
been successively organized in IEEJ (institute of electrical engineers in Japan) and have conducted
investigations focused on the issue since early 2000's. This paper outlines the recent topics of the
activities conducted by the committees that include the intercomparison of calculation of internal
electric field caused by exposure to uniform magnetic fields among institutes using identical
anatomical human model and exposure conditions.
